Established with the aim of imparting quality education in the field of computer science and its applications, the Department of Computer Applications & IT at GDC Sumbal offers an academically rich and technologically up-to-date learning environment. The department offers the following programmes and courses:

• Bachelor with Computer Applications as Major: A 6-semester undergraduate programme affiliated with the University of Kashmir, focusing on core areas such as programming, web development, database systems, networking, data structures, operating systems, and software engineering.
•  Bachelor with Information Technology as Major: A 6-semester undergraduate programme affiliated with the University of Kashmir In today’s digital age, designed to equip students with the technical expertise, critical thinking skills, and practical knowledge required to thrive in the fast-paced world of technology. This program offers a balanced blend of theoretical foundations and hands-on experience in areas such as programming, web development, database management, networking, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and emerging technologies.

• Web Developer Skill Course in the NEP-2020 curriculum to the students of various disciplines

•  Computer Applications and Information Technology as Multi-disciplinary subjects for all streams.
