About

The Department of Zoology was established in the year 2014, is one of the versatile and leading departments of GDC Sumbal in the field of teaching and learning in frontier areas of animal sciences with emphasis on hands-on practical training of the students. Presently it is headed by Dr. Nikhat Nabi. The Department offers undergraduate courses in Zoology with emphasis on fundamentals as well as emerging areas of modern biology such as Animal Diversity, Comparative Anatomy, Comparative Animal Physiology, Ecology, Parasitology, Entomology, Animal behaviour, Immunology, Ichthyology, Molecular Biology and Genetics,. The Department has highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty who are actively engaged in teaching using technology aided lectures. Demonstrations, study tours, field trips, project and seminars are regularly conducted to enhance quality of teaching and learning.
